Standing Committees

Community Outreach: Responsible for collecting and packaging Thanksgiving Baskets. This committee also oversees the Mentor Program. 

Socials/Special Events: Plans happy hours, barbeques, and other events just for fun and community-building. Most recently, this committee organized our Holiday Party. 

BLSA Student/GMU Law School: Assists in the formation and maintenance of NOVABAA student groups at Virginia law schools, and in mentoring GMU BLSA law students. Contact Turkessa Rollins, BLSA Liason Chair.

Membership: Focuses on recruiting efforts for the organization and compiles our membership directory. Contact: Kellie Budd, Membership Chair.

Communications: As a member of this committee, you will work on information and submissions for our website and newsletter. Contact Al Carr, Communications Chair.

Other Committees

Judicial Screening: Evaluates and endorses candidates for Virginia judicial offices.

Fundraising: Working in conjunction with our parent organization, the Old Dominion Bar Association, (ODBA), this committee assists with the planning of the annual conference and gathering of CLE and ethics materials.

Continuing Legal Education: Coordinates the development and presentation of CLE and other educational opportunities such as the ODBA Conference.
